Our client, Wi-flix had an ambitious goal of becoming the leading on-demand streaming platform in Africa. Our response: say no more!

We developed a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that enabled Wi-flix to launch across multiple countries and growing paid subscriber base from 0 to 1 million in twelve months.

We worked with the Wi-flix team to create a 360 degree campaign covering digital, mainstream media, out-of-home, influencer marketing and a compelling PR campaign that helped build brand visibility, drove conversion, curated a compelling brand story, raised visibility for the founders and enabled the streaming service provider to raise funding.

AIMS Ghana

Growing influence, enabling fundraising and demystifying mathematical sciences

Established in 2012 as part of the AIMS Next Einstein Initiative, AIMS Ghana was formed as a partnership between the Government of Ghana and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences – Next Einstein Initiative to advance postgraduate training in mathematical sciences, research and public engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The Center wanted to convene high level stakeholders to raise the visibility of AIMS in Ghana, showcase the work of students and graduates and to help with its fundraising ambitions.

Upendi PR worked with AIMS Ghana to convene stakeholders including Government officials, decision makers, the development sector, funders, captains of industry, students, STEM enthusiast and advocates.

The strategically curated convening enabled AIMS to showcase the work of its students and graduates and to exemplify to industry leaders the importance of mathematical sciences in driving value for organizations.

 The collaboration  also helped funders to see the imperative and value of investing in STEM to propel development. The convening contributed to the fundraising objectives of AIMS Ghana with some funders and the Government of Ghana, through the Minister of State for Tertiary Education, announcing its commitment to supporting AIMS Ghana’s operations.

Switch Car Rental

Launching a uniquely in-country and cross-border rental services in Ghana

LeasAfric, a leading non-bank financial services provider in Ghana wanted to diversify its portfolio by launching the Switch Car Rental Services in Ghana to provide rental services for self-drive or chauffer driven luxury vehicles for in-country and cross-border customers.

Working with the Leadership Team of LeasAfric, we created an experiential launch event that brought together high value clients, business leaders, industry players and the media to showcase the unique proposition of Switch Car Rentals, to test drive the company’s fleet of vehicles and to provide opportunities for on the spot sign up services.

The event received extensive media coverage, helping to build awareness for the newly launched car rental services and customer sign-ups.

LeanTrans

Powering the launch and growth of an unrivalled talent management solution in Ghana

LearnTrans Limited, one of Ghana’s leading Human Resource consulting firms, had partnered SHL, the global leader in HR technology and psychometric science to make available their world leading talent management solution in Ghana.

But how do drive awareness for such services for targeted clientele?

Upendi Communications Group partnered with LearnTrans to to curate a compelling launch strategy including an experiential event.

The results? A compelling  campaign that included storytelling, media placements, seminars and an experiential event that brought together both the public and private sector, decision makers, HR Leaders and the media to unveil this offering and to usher in a new era of comprehensive talent management in Ghana.

The campaign and launch event attracted extensive media coverage across TV, radio, print and online and helped LeanTrans to grow its paid subscriber base for the service.

StreetXpress

Building a delivery brand from the ground-up

When the management of StreetXpress wanted to bring to market a unique delivery service in a ‘red-oceaned’ highly competitive and unregulated motor-cycled delivery service market, they turned to Upendi Communications Group.

Working with the leadership of StreetXpress, we developed an air-tight comprehensive go-to market strategy that catapulted the brand to high prominence within its first year in operations.

We helped create the brand persona from scratch, with our in-house designers rolling up their sleeves to create a unique brand architecture to help drive business objectives. Next we created a compelling digital media campaign on a shoestring budget, supported by online and print media to help grow brand awareness and trust with major retailers (for B2B) and general public (for B2C).

We leveraged the unique business proposition of StreetXpress and their environmentally friendly delivery bikes to tell a compelling brand story that helped grow its influence and supported its growth ambitions.

StreetXpress grew to become a preferred delivery option for major retailers during the peak of COVID-19.

Executive Women Network

Helping build Ghana’s biggest and  most influential network for career women and entrepreneurs

When six distinguished Ghanaian women leaders met and decided to create a network and platform to support, enable and uplift other women leaders, they thought hard about how to leverage communications to drive the ambitions of the Network.

Working with the Network from the onset, we developed and executed a comprehensive communications strategy to drive the objectives of the Network Leveraging social and mainstream media, seminars, conferences, community engagement and outreaches.  The Network continues to grow its membership and influence and has been hosting the largest gathering of women business leaders, entrepreneurship and innovators every year.

Africa Science Week

Creating a buzz and making Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) an every day thing!

In 2018, the Next Einstein Initiative engaged the services of Upendi Communications Group  to help bring to life the maiden edition of the Africa Science Week in Ghana. The objective was to leverage the Africa Science Week celebrations to ignite a national conversation about STEM and to showcase the work that young people in STEM were driving in Ghana.

This was a challenge that we relished. We set off by developing a comprehensive communications strategy to meet the campaign’s objectives. We engaged extensively with Ghanaian STEM Stakeholders, STEM, coding and innovation hubs, under the auspices of Ghana’s Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment to deliver the biggest STEM celebration in Ghana with participation from over 5,000 young people, hubs and innovators across the country.

The execution included the hosting of stem challenges across four regions in Ghana with participation from several coding and innovation hubs as well as the first of its kind Africa Science Week convening with dialogues to advance STEM, exhibitions by innovators and science fairs for students across the country.

The celebration received extensive  media visibility, raised the national conversation on STEM education and helped showcase young innovators in Ghana.

The celebrations became the reference point for the Africa Science Week across 35 countries on the continent.
